Yesterday I got a lot of criticism from strangers on a social media app that I've been using for about a year. I wrote about a sensitive subject but I wasn't being condescending or rude to anyone. My intent was never to start a fight but to raise a question.
A few lessons learned from this incidence:
A+. Appreciate those who appreciate your words and respect you. There is always more supply of the evil and demand of the good in the world.
A. No matter how nice you actually are as a person, there will be people despising you. It's not your job to figure out why they despise you. It's their job to figure out how to deal with people better.
B. Discussion is meaningful but if someone comes in and takes a crap in the discussion, get rid of them and don't invite them back in.
C. If a person doesn't know how to communicate appropriately, even if they are right, they are not worth listening to.
D. To avoid criticism, say nothing, do nothing, be nothing.
